Simple nature of the truth obscured,
The lie is obvious, yet it’s ignored.
You know it deep within your heart and soul,
Yet you deny its true intended call.

When truth is obviously known and seen,
Why still defend their darkest lies so keen?
Why back those who will break your achy back?
Empower them to drag you through their muck?

Look past the veil of false facade and see:
What may stand behind the powers that be?
Why do they really promise what they do?
Why will they never follow through for you?

When a lie’s fancy splendor blinds your eye,
Truth’s gentle whisper you should not deny.
