Sonnet No. 1

We all know, “Rolling stone gathers no moss,”
And true it is, as proverb to us shows.
A little movement may test strength of bonds,
The strength of roots, rather than merely gloss.

“Who’ll run with you?” – just look and see, who cares?
Who’ll hear your voice – when it’s too weak to call?
Who’ll give you helping hand when all else fails?
When walls come crashing down, who cares at all?

Mistake made clear – have they abandoned you?
Who is with you – step back, and see who’s true.
Let go of love – will dove come back to you?
If love returns to you, then love is true.

And when you look, then know how best to see:
Ensure that you can see with clarity.
