What’s in a smile, what does it convey?
Express affection or sympathy it may?
Was it sarcasm? Seductive? Or sad smile?
Was it contempt? Or was it sheer desire?
A smile: mouth gaping, showing pearly white;
The eyes projecting beams of the soul’s light;
A crinkling of the nose seen sometimes;
An inkling of the heart in a surprise.
Was smile genuine, or was it just polite?
Was it embarrassed? Forced? Or nervous?
Was it right? Was it mischief, or was it smug?
Your heart will tell you – in a sudden jag.
A smile has a power; it’s a force.
A smile can move mountains in its course;
And you can sense within your own heart so well,
What smile was, and what it meant to tell .
